Heard an ad on the radio that Seneca Niagra casino (the one on the American side of the falls) is opening/has opened a poker room?

Confirmation? Didn't see anything on the website... Anybody gone there? How big is the room, what limits, rake, etc, etc?

They did open the poker room on Saturday (May 15th). Nothing on the website yet but I called to make sure. I haven't been there yet so I don't know the specifics other than I was told they have hold-em limits from 2/4 to 40/80 as well as a live NL game with two $5 blinds and $100 min $200 max buy in. I'll probably check it out this weekend. If I do I'll post some information Monday about the specifics.

They told me 14 tables when I phoned them, and that they're willing to spread all limits and NL. I'll be up there probably tomorrow night to check it out.

Yo, I went. The spread is 2/4 to 20/40 plus a $300max NL.
16 tables and even a Stud table. The 20/40 rocks, where did they find the jokers to fill this table? The 10/20 I sat was rock solid. Anyway, rake is $4 all the way up to 10/20, 15/30 and above starts at a $5 per 1/2hr session fee. They have 'free' sandwiches and cookies too. It is a mess there though, noone running the pokerroom knows what to do and the dealers have never heard of hold'em before last week.

None the less, they have poker!

The 10/20 game I played in was fair. Everyone was talking about the loose 20/40 game, but since I only had a few hours I played the 10/20, the only limit table with seats open, and then played the NL, which I am more comfortable with. The NL game was fair as well. The charge for the NL ($100 min buyin, $200 max, 5/5 blinds) is $6/half hour.

I think next time I'll take a look at the 20/40.

Do expect long waits for a seat at the bigger games, poorly-trained staff, and arguments over procedure. But still, it's non-smoking, and close to my hometown, so I'll be back.

I'm curious......

My wife and I like going to Niagra Falls. The last time we went, we stayed in Canada and went to Casino Niagra alot (no poker there /images/graemlins/mad.gif). Does Seneca Niagra have a hotel attached to it, or is there a hotel within walking distance? Also, how far is the casino from the falls. Casino Niagra in Canada was about a block from the falls.

I believe the Holiday Inn is directly across the street. There are also several others within easy (read 4 blocks or less) walking distance.
