Just joined the table a few hands ago so no reads. Was caping preflop correct in my position? Was I correct in folding to the 3 bet on the flop?

Hey deac. Looks good to me. With 2 players pumping the pot, I'd say you are beat there almost every time.

When you are 3-bet and then capped behind pf, you can be pretty sure that any overcard on the flop ruins your chances (if you weren't beat before the flop). So this is an easy fold when it comes back around for 2 more bets, IMO. You have two outs which may not even be good and there is a possibility of a cap if you call the 3-bet.

Would anyone either fold or raise the initial flop bet? I'm thinking that either one may have been better than just calling. I suppose with the huge pot already it gives you reason to call the open bet but it also makes a case for raising.

Do you guys think I should have even bet on the flop?

I think the first call is fine and absolutely correct. You are getting 21.5:1 on your 22.5:1 shot and will easily make up that extra SB if you spike your Q on the turn. The only real question is: Do you think there is a good chance you'll get raised? I think it's worth the risk to call the first bet.

I raise the flop, second choice is to fold if BB is a rock.

Why call? If you think you're going to get to see the turn by only investing 1 SB on the flop then that implies you think the people behind you are weak. If that's the case you have to raise. Otherwise you have to fold.
