I called a raise at &6/$12 when i was the small blind. I had A/9 hearts. Was that the right move. The raiser was on the button.

Thanks for the reply.

It depends on how many players are in the pot.

Tell us the entire pre-flop story.

3 other calls prior to the raise. 4 total players ended up calling the raise. I folded after the flop. The raiser had A/Q suited and won the hand with a flush.

hi all first post on this forum,

in my opinion is correct to call the raise with any Axs Kxs with a pot odd at 1:8 or better. but if you get a ace and you dont have the flush draw watch out.

the danger is to call A9o because if an ace come out your problably facing a kicker problem

With four other players already in the pot and the possibility of the big blind calling, I think you can call with a decent suited Ace. You would definately call in the big blind.

You should never call a raise with A9o. I'll often muck this hand in the small blind for just 1/2 bet.

I agree with Dynasty that this would be an ok call. I would add that if the late raiser is the opener, I would often re-raise with a-9 or a-9o.

I would probably fold in this situation;though definetly call in the big blind. Your positon relative to the raiser is terrible. If you flop a flush draw, and everyone checks to the raiser then you have to worry about the field. I don't think it's a bad call, but I would prefer to be on the raiser's left.
