A hand from the other night at a typical 1/2 party table. My reads -
UTG+2=loose/semi aggressive
Button=new to table
SB=relatively tight
BB=loose passive
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 raises, Hero 3-bets, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button calls, SB caps, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, Button calls.

Flop: (20 SB) 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (5 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, SB 3-bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, Button calls.
After the pre-flop cap and the flop 3-bet by the SB, I had to put him on AA or the set (JJ)

Turn: (17.50 BB) T/images/graemlins/club.gif (5 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+2 raises, Hero folds, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls.
UTG+2 is a bit of a LAG, so he could make this raise with just a draw, but I was thinking possibly KQ. And given the board, a K may not win it for me. Not to mention the possibility of a 3-bet. I decided laying it down was the best option, despite the pot size. I though it possible my best result would be 1/2 the pot with a Q.

River: (23.50 BB) 6/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+2 checks.
???
Final Pot: 23.50 BB
Main Pot: 23.50 BB, between SB, BB and UTG+2. > Pot won by SB (23.50 BB).

Results in white below:
SB shows Jh Js (three of a kind, jacks).
BB shows 3h Ah (high card, ace).
UTG+2 shows 7c Qc (high card, queen).
Outcome: SB wins 23.50 BB.

Comments on my play?

This is a bad fold, IMO. The pot is at 21.50 BB when it gets to you and you have a gutshot, an overpair, and quite possibly the best hand at this point. I hope you aren't routinely making these folds in huge pots.

Noted Poker and Porno Authority Ed Miller says:

If in doubt, don't fold your overpair, especially with outs. Pot's too frigging huge.
