I was playing at a site yesterday. At one table there were 2 royal flushes dealt within 10 minutes. They were both in the same suit. What are the chances?

There is no way the shuffle at this site could be truly random.

So I'd like to warn you about playing at this site.

Its called Foxwoods.

Actually, it does sound as if there was a chance that the dealer was shuffling poorly.

well....if both royals were of the same suit then maybe.

if they were different suits would/could this still be indicative of a bad shuffle??

What I mean is, is there a Royal Flush jackpot at Foxwoods? Never been there. If there is, maybe the dealer is a mechanic and was in on it with two buddies. Although its sounds far fetched, its definately possible. If that is what happened though, that dealer is an idiot for dealing 2 royals. One jackpot is plenty. Or even better, maybe he false delt/rigged the first Royal, then just out of coincidence the second came out fair and square? I dont know, Im just ramblin, hell, I dont even know if Foxwoods has a Royal Flush Jackpot, lol.

Conspiracy Theory? That's how rumors get started.

Yes, there is a royal flush jackpot. The person who is dealt the royal gets a crappy jacket.

Do they use the under the table shuffle machines at Foxwoods like they do here at the Bike? I'm still working on the pattern map for the "random" shuffle that the machine does to the cards while they are out of everyone's sight.

If I can't figure it out soon, I'll have to resort to my feminine wiles to get the information from management there. I just need to remember where I put them. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Now that is funny. Im in Florida. Hows the weather up there? Cold? Maybe they needed 2 jackets really bad? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not after 10 minutes. If even one hand was dealt in between, then there is no way that a bad shuffle would cause that.
Of all of the hands that are played, it would be really surprising if something like this DIDN'T happen. It is far fetched but probability shows that things like this DO happen.

Many think that if the odds are 100,000 to 1 against something happening, then it won't happen. And others think that they happen too often. But then "selective memory" just makes it seem that way. People have a tendency to forget about all of the times that they played that it didn't happen.

I can confirm they're crooked. I was in a SnG there (Act 2) and one guy made a raise with KK, then another went all in for 88 right after him. Of course KK called. Flop had an 8, turn was an 8. Quadzilla!!!!! Its RIGGED! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

I know what you mean. Last night at the site I was playing at I got Kings twice, both time an Ace hit on the flop. I got Jacks twice, and Queens hit both times.

This guy and his wife got the high hand 3 times between the two of them: royal flush, straight flush, quad kings. They also got quad jacks. This all happened within about 15 hands. What are the odds? It must be impossible.

I asked the dealer what kind of RNG he was using and he didn't even know what I was talking about!! He didn't speak English very well and thought I was asking if he had an orange-y. So I contacted a floor person (it only took 30 seconds to connect, this site's support is amazing). I said I thought this guy and his wife were colluding and he should look at the hand histories. I also asked if the Kawatani gaming commision had guaranteed the fairness of his shuffle. He hadn't even heard of them!!

Usually I'm a winning player, making 5-6 BB/hr though I don't keep records. Last night I lost 50 BB on river after river. Avoid the Casino San Pablo everyone. I'm sticking to party from now on because Mike Sexton guarantees it's fair.
