I feel a little embarassed about this one, but I'm trying to break the habit of betting into a huge field when I know anybody who caught a piece of the flop isn't going to fold.

Having said that, I think betting the flop to try for a free card might have been okay here, but since I know my chances of catching another 9 are so small I'm not sure if it's worth it.

I think, however, if I'm going to play this like such a candy-ass after the flop, I'm better off limping.

You played it fine, although limping is an option as well preflop.
