UTG+1 has been playing all kinds of hands like 96s in EP and raising with them, so I wanted to try to isolate him this hand.

A player waking up on the turn is usually a bad sign, although it could've been a set of nines. I don't know if I'd believe in the quads, but I'd suspect I'm beat on the river. That said, I don't know if I could lay down a boat.

This looks fine. I often 3-bet the river.

On .5/1? I don't think this is a good play. Most micro players don't raise a bettor with 3 of a kind on the board. It looks like a crying call to me.

I was thinking he'd be splitting UTG+1's extra bet often enough to justify it. I think it may be a razor-thin, but I like to raise.

Yeah that's a good point and I think a raise may be the play if the raiser couldn't then cap; but I think the times where he caps and you call more than cancel out the times where you split an extra bet.

Also, the original bettor is much more likely to call 1 bet back to him than 2 so raising may actually lessen the bets you split.

Yeah. I think you're prolly right.
