No great read on the table. Had moved not too long before to that table. Although relevent person here had neither shown maniac or rock.

Opinions please. Will post results later.

Why not? I can't see folding and leaving yourself with t665 here.

If he had a big pair and drew out on you, that bites, because if he played a big pair this way he very much deserved to lose. You certainly had no reason to expect that someone hit this flop better than you!

i think you have to call...if he tripped low pockets then you probably will lose.. most often these guys have top pair or lower two pair..my guess is he had lower two pair

It's hard to imagine what CO holds that makes him think this is a good play right here. If he has a set, he could definitely have milked it for more with only a couple of unlikely straight draws out there. But then it's early in the tournament (read: plenty of fish left), and maybe he figures he'll get lucky and someone will call with top pair, or even luckier and someone flopped two pair (or a lower set).

But like I said, it's early, you don't know anything about this guy, and it is Party, so I think you have to call here, as he could easily have one pair, and doubling up would be keen.

Of course, this sort of post is rarely a winner... so you should have folded /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, the pain.

So you're right. Should I really have been worried about a set here?

Results:

Final Pot: t2840
Main Pot: t1760 (t1760), between CO and BigDork. > Pot won by CO (t1760).
Pot 2: t1080 (t1080), overbet by CO.

Results in white below:
BigDork shows Td 8c (two pair, tens and eights).
CO shows 2d 2h (full house, twos full of sevens).
Outcome: CO wins t2840.

And I flame out the earliest I've left in the few MTT's I've played so far.

So is consensus that early like this you should call? Obviously a read on the player would be a large factor here, but I did not have that. In that case is it better to fold up and go home?

Thanks again for theh input.

Learning.

Any hand that calls your flop bet has enough of this board to make your hand vulnerable. I think this is a case where you must overbet the pot, about 300. That's big enough that you're not going to fold to a reraise, so push in.
