Club Regent spreads low limit holdem games and the occasional limit tournament. The Blue Room on Notre Dame has no limit tournaments and some ring games. The Barca Club on Osborne runs a no limit tournament on Tuesday nights. I think there is a place in St James as well where there are some higher limit ring games but I haven't been.

The only one I found was a low-limit game at that God-aweful, butt ugly casino in the east end. The Club Regent has a card room downstairs across from the crappy snack bar. When I asked if they spread 10-20 I got a look like I'd asked for a kilo of drugs. They gave me the "not since Ben Afleck was here" story, which is interesting if you are really drunk. The upstairs area is jammed with low-lifes betting their milk money on Bingo. It's a hole.

My rant is over but thanks for the post. I see there are other places to play so I just might try another venue. Regent sucks and McPhillips, sensing the global explosion in poker games was real, closed their card room.
