Did I slow down too soon with this hand? I was fairly new to the table so no reads, but I quickly learned my opponent here was a LAG. Was it reasonable for me to fear the bigger set/boat?

PParty Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(3 players) </font>
SB bets, Hero raises, MP1 3-bets, SB folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (5 BB) 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(2 players) </font>
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, MP1 3-bets, Hero calls.

River: (11 BB) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(2 players) </font>
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls.

The flop call is definitely deceptive, I doubt your opponent puts you on trips. I'd cap the turn and bet the river. I would only get wimpy after a river raise.
