Check call.

It looks like he made a standard 3xBB preflop, and you just called. No problem with that.

It looks like you played the flop a bit passive. You made a less than pot sized bet, and he made a minimum sized raise that you just called.

I make a pot sized bet on the flop. If I get called and a diamond hits the turn I'd be scared (position really does mean a lot). I'd probably have to check and fold to a bet, but I'd wonder if I was laying down the best hand.

I fold PF unless I think he's an utter tard. This is party so its quite likely he is. Given that, I check-raise the flop and lead at the turn. If you're 3-bet I'd probably check-call the turn since you have the 3rd nut flush draw and a gut shot non-nut straight plus possibly the best hand.

So, the hero has 800 or his 1700 chips in the pot already?

The only really logical hands for MP2 to be raising with are are a big pair, or AK or AQ maybe A-10ss, He wouldnt have raised pre-flop with Q-10 would he? With this many chips in the pot, this is tough, I don't think you can check call this down, as that will basically put you all-in. Either come out swinging, or check fold.
