I posted this on Saturday night in a different thread while buzzed and after suffering 2 bad beats in a row: "Since: a)I probably won't do it, and b)the KING knocked me out of the last KOTZ event, and a $50+5 the other night.

I'll give $20 to whoever kicks the KING to the rail in Thursdays KOTZ PL tournament."

The highest KotZ ranked player that has not made the money by the end of the season deserves an award.

My pocket A's were no match for flop with 2 Kings when Vinny had a third. I shoulda folded of course but I like that move of representing a paired board so I figured Vinny may too. I quickly doubled the little I had left to get back to about 450ish. Then I got em all in with 66 only to be up against AA. No 6's hit this board and I was out extremely quickly.

So I show up about 40 min late as has become my custom in KotZ events and see that I am down to about 1100 (but have already beaten Lori and ToT for what thats worth). I take a few pots and quickly recover my loses, before picking up A /images/graemlins/heart.gifK /images/graemlins/heart.gif in LP. Huskiez open raises from EMP and I pot it back to him and he goes all in. I call.

He has A /images/graemlins/club.gifK /images/graemlins/spade.gif and I'm fine with that. Flop is rags with 2 Spades and a Heart so we both have the runner runner draw. Turn and river are spades and I'm sent packing.

Then when I have some chips again, AK gets cracked by A7.
Stars hates me.... haven't had a winning session at that site in 2 weeks.

I guess it goes to show that anyone can win with great cards... 1st place in my first kotz event- I guess besides just generally feeling dumbfounded I'm proud to have beaten such an excellent group of players...

Ok, sappiness aside, it's really great playing with such a talented group of folks. so much more educational than the average party grind. Guess I'm going to have to come back for more.

Oh, and while I'm at it- I guess I'll have to return the favor from eMark- $20 bounty on my head for the next one, even if it's stud/8 or some such nonsense.

Sorry about that beat Nottom. I was figuring we would split, and I noticed that the flop came with backdoor draws for both of us.

I got hit pretty hard when I (3805) had TT in the BB, and it was folded around to hototogisu (2165) in SB, who min raised me to 200 (blinds 50 and 100). I potted back to 600, he reraised a sizeable amount and I decided to push all in hoping to see overcards. He called with 33, and pot size was 4330 (winning would have vaulted me into 2nd I believe). Flop came with a 3, no help on later streets, and my stack was left crippled. After 15 more hands or so I found myself on the rail, and ready for dinner.

My first KOTZ tournament was a lot of fun. Thanks.
