ill be there startibng wednesday evening, i want to eat the buffets at mirage and especially at bellagio and i dont want to pay for it. i want a comp. is that reasonable to hope for if im playing 15-30 and up? and how exactly do i go about getting a comp ticket there? i remember being very irritated about a year ago, playing 8-16 all night at bellagio and not getting a comp, being told they were all given away at 8am and i missed it. any help is greatly appreciated.

also, hope to see many of you there. ill be the fat ugly kid playing too many hands and losing his bankroll rather quickly. look for me at the 4-8 by thursday day.

Mike L. Be sure to find the "Babe" while you are here....I'll be at Mirage on Tues and Weds, most likely in the 20-40 ..Or the Bellagio at 30-60. As for comps, yep...it's weird here. At the Mirage ask Pam or Mark for a comp between 12noon and 1PM. As for the Bellagio, it's a little tougher, since you are not a "regular" player. Best to find the Babe and take it from there. I will be happy to help. Have a nice trip and see ya next week.

You really have to jump through hoops to get comps at the Bellagio and Mirage. It's amazing how unproffessional those two poker rooms are in this area.

If you are seriously going to play 4-8, I'd reccomend you play at the Monte Carlo four hours a day. With four hours of play, you get a $6 comp which is good either at their buffet or a nice restaurant.

You can always have dinner at my place night although I wouldn't expect much more than hamburgers or microwaved lasagna.

I have 2 comps @ Mirage buffet coming from the stupid Wagerworks site if I can figure out how to redeem them. I have to use them either Thurs or Fri, and I get there Thursday. I have a committed dinner Thurs. night (I am lobbying for 9 @ The Palms if anyone has experience there who wants to either dissuade me or confirm my lobbying) so I might have an extra. I can't promise to hook you up, but maybe you can hit HDPM up for one. See ya @ the seminar.

I also suggest walking across the street to the Venetian and dropping a couple bets on the bone in rib eye at Delmonico. Someone suggested the pan seared ahi or sea bass at Kokomo (I think) @ the Mirage. California Pizza @ Mirage is pretty good too. I've never managed to go hungry in Las Vegas. Or anywhere else for that matter unfortunately. I'm sure you will muddle through the eating there with no problems.

Definitely the best steakhouse in town IMO. I know that Pokerbabe likes the Palm in Caesars, but I am sticking to my guns.

If you go, try and sit in Bradley's section. He is the best.

I think he wants to eat without paying much for it. Kind of like how I make my hamburgers at home rather than paying that outrageous $1.00 at BK.

mike, if you are willing to pay, Circus Circus has a long-standing reputation for having a great Steak House.

Ah, but you don't eat cheese on your burgers. So its only $0.78 for two hamburgers.

Bun included.

I am not a big steak eater but FOR SURE the chateubriand for two at Delmonicos might be the single best dinner i have ever had. just be prepared to break out the big bucks.

If getting a comp is important to you then you simply can't afford to play poker. Try the nickel slots. Asking for a comp is the most demeaning thing you can do. If you can't afford to pay for your own meals then you shouldn't be gambling. Only Losers Need a Comp.

If you eat at the bellagio buffet, let's say, three days a week for a year, let's see, that's close to twenty bucks times 150, or 3,000 dollars a year. Mike l. plays a lot of poker. Therefore, he thinks about these things because they are significant. If you think you should pay 3,000 dollars a year on food when you can get it for free, just so you can feel good that you have the option to pay with your poker winnings, you're a loser. . .

Glen- I agree with you. Over the course of a year, those comps add up to bets won! Babe

babe,

what if there is more than one babe at the table? i mean, i do expect to see a bunch of crusty old men and then this one obvious babe creature, but what if that's not the case when i arrive? do you have a name or favorite pair of singlasses you wear or something?

thanks for the help everyone, mike

04-22-2002, 10:12 PM
Mike l. Yes, the BABE will stand out vs. the crusty old men for sure. Also, the Babe will stand out vs. the other Babes as well. I do sometimes wear glasses, but not always. Let me know where you will be and perhaps we can meet. I am a daytime player...so if it's after 5 your Babe-sighting possibilities are greatly reduced. I do want to meet you if you are around....Babe

ill be coming in wed night and will play either bellagio or mirage pretty much the whole time. plan to maybe hit horseshoe one of those days/nights.im trying to think of something distinctive i can wear so i can be easily identified by any and all of you wonderful LV munchkins (esp. dynasty, babe, clark, etc, etc).

ok ive got it: i will wear this rather small ugly CREAM COLORED HUSTLER CASINO CAP i have here. i look like a real dumb as*hole in it, but that's okay cause i am anyway half the time.

now if youre really smart youll all remember this piece of info and get on the list for any table you see my hat at. but seriously, i would like to meet some of you (ill be completely alone all day each day until around 5pm when my friend hortence gets out some work seminar thing he's there for and would like to go to breakfast and lunch with someone) so please introduce yourself to anyone wearing said silly hat.

What time will you arrive on Wednesday night? Will you be playing Wednesday night? Maybe I can walk up to the Strip then and look for you (got to watch Enterprise first, though).

If we can't meet Wednesday, I'll head up to the Strip on Thursday even if I'm not playing. And, I definitely see you Friday at the seminar.

Seriously, what limits will you be playing in?

Are you still intending to play just 3-6/4-8? Or should I look in the 8-16 & 15-30 games at the Bellagio and 10-20 games at the Mirage. Or are you really going to be brave and play the Bellagio 30-60?

ill be playing anything between 4-8 and 20-40. lowest ill be in at the mirage is 6-12. im just assuming that bellagio is still 4-8, 8-16, 15-30. seriously doubt ill play much 4-8 and 6-12 really. ill be looking at the 30-60, but will have to win a session at 15 to feel comfortable sitting down. this 3 night trip is "operation dont go broke" for me. see i spent a very large chunk of my bankroll on paying off all our credit cards. so now im debt-free, but precariously close to broke. 15-30's been treating me well though. if i find myself playing 15 against cissy b and vince though, well id rather play keno since id have a better chance of winning that way.

im not sure if we'll be playing in mirage or bellagio wednesday night but ill definitely be at one of the two sometime after 9pm.
