I was going through my favorite posts list and came across this gem from Clarkmeister. Some of you who don't venture over to the psychology forum or are new to the forum may not have seen this one.

Running bad or playing badly (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/favlinker.php?Cat=&Entry=14518&F_Board=psych&Threa d=204604&partnumber=&postmarker=)

Vital reading for newbies such as myself. Until you've had a horrible downswing, you it's tough to recognize the hot streaks for what they are.

(Mini-rant: This weekend I watched my rockets taken down by QQ, KK beaten by AJ on the river, a flopped set of jacks dropped by a flush, my nut flush taken down by a boat (BB calls a raise with 27o).

(Mini-redemption: This morning I watched the opposite happen. My flopped set of fives turned into a boat to take out a flush, my flush took down trips, etc. The only problem was that my bad run was at 1/2 and my good run was at .50/1 /images/graemlins/blush.gif).
