I've been playing online SnG's for awhile now, and every so often the double bust out (one player busts two others on the same hand) occurs, but not usually late in play. Today this hand happened, and I was wondering what determines in what order the two busted out players finish.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (3 handed)

Hero (t1480)
SB (t4920)
BB (t1600)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A/images/graemlins/heart.gif, Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
Hero raises to t1480 (All-In), SB calls t1280, BB raises to t1600 (All-In), SB calls t120.

Flop: (t4680) 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: (t4680) Q/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players, 2 all-in)

River: (t4680) J/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: t4680
Main Pot: t4440 (t4440), between Hero, SB and BB. > Pot won by SB (t4440).
Pot 2: t240 (t240), between SB and BB. > Pot won by SB (t240).

Results:
Hero shows Ah Qd (two pair, queens and nines).
SB shows Ad 9s (three of a kind, nines).
BB shows 2s 2d (two pair, nines and twos).
Outcome: SB wins t4680.

At showdown, there is a main pot of T4440, contested 3 ways, and a sidepot of T240 contested between only the SB and the BB.

I thought the proper way to run a showdown was to award the sidepot(s) first, and then the main pot. If this were the case, then the SB's trips should beat BB's 9's up, and so the SB wins T240. Then, in awarding the main pot, the trips win again, and BB and I bust out at the same time. Since we both have equal claim to the main pot, and I have a better final hand, I should bust out ahead of him, correct? In other words, I should take 2nd and him 3rd.

As it is, Party awarded me 3rd and the BB 2nd. Do I have a case to complain to Party?

On a double bust out the person with the most chips at the start of the hand gets the higher place.
