View Full Version : How do you play a big fish.

1-2 holdem with a big fish at the table. She would see the river more then 70% of the hands and in the rest of the hands she would see the turn.

Furthermore, she hardly raised. In one hand she played 69o, got flopped two nines and just check-called all the way down. There were no straight or flush possibilities and no other pair on the board. So to me impossible to get a read on her.

Here's a hand I was involved in and would like to know if I played it correctly.

I raise in EP with AA, get about 4-5 callers of which the fish is one.

Flop: 9 J 6 rainbow

I bet and everyone folds except the fish, who calls.

Turn is a 10.

I bet, fish calls. Should I have checked here? I have no idea what the fish has. Could be 23o, but might as well be 78 or QK.

Riv is a 6 pairing the board.

I check, she checks. Should I have bet here?

Peter,

You have to bet any hand that likely has value, two pair with an overpiar is a monster. given that she doesn't raise often don't reraise if you are raised, but you certainly need to bet here.

I would probably bet and middle pair good kicker on the river against this player.

Clarkmeister's response is simpler, but really all you need to know here.

Good luck,

Play well,

Okey, its a fish.

But my opinion is that you are the worm for the fish here =)

You just HAVE to bet the river there 110% of the time!
