Why wouldn't he have stored the black chips in a box or somewhere more secure than a car? Does not seem very smart.

In Richard Munchkin's book "Gambling Wizards", Chip Reese tells a story where some guy owed him a million dollars and paid him in cash one morning. Chip's son had a soccer game that morning, and Chip never missed the games. He said in his interview: "I figure, what's the price on someone robbing your trunk at nine in the morning at a kid's soccer game? I just put it in my trunk and went and watched the game."

That is an excellent book.

There is also the story where Chip was going to a poker game in LA. He put $250,000 dollars into a suitcase and drove to the airport. When he got to the airport he realized that he forgot to take the money, so he drove home. When he got home and got out of the car, the suitcase was sitting on the roof of his car.

Hope the guy has been paying taxes. If someone hasn't already dropped a dime on him, the IRS will know about his wins now anyway.

I knew the Kellers from the MTG scene in Northern California from when they went to school and played out there. Tell them Dan DuBois says Hi, or better yet, PM me their email, and I'll tell them myself.
