Just sat down, no reads on anyone

----------------------------------------

Party Poker 15/30 (10 handed)
Hero has A/images/graemlins/club.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif and is CO

EP2 raises, MP2 calls, Hero 3-bets, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, EP2 calls, MP2 calls

Flop(10 2/3 SB): 8/images/graemlins/club.gif, 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif

EP2 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, EP2 calls, MP2 raises, Hero 3-bets, EP2 folds, MP2 caps, Hero calls

Turn(9 5/6 BB): 4/images/graemlins/diamond.gif

MP2 bets, Hero calls

River(11 5/6 BB): 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif

MP2 bets, Hero calls

------------------------------------------------

When he capped, I put him on a set, but I couldn't rule out a lower pocket pair (or pumping a draw) so I couldn't lay it down. Anyone lay this down at any point?

I also thought about raising the turn and folding to a 3-bet. How's that?

You played it well, though I probably would have called his check-raise on the flop, then raised the turn. It sure looks like a set, but you can't lay down AA here against an unknown opponent.

And no way you should raise the turn/fold to a 3-bet. That move is often useful, but is completely out of place here.
