I was playing a Pokerstars WSOP freeroll 60FPP tournament, first round.
-----------------------------
My first table.
Me: JJ
Short stack: K5

BB/SB- 15/30
Raise $200 preflop, he calls.

FLOP- 7JK

I checked to trap him, he all in.

Called. K5 came up.. (LOL)

------------------------------

Same Tournament: Recovered from the first wacky setback and was in the final table, last 9. (average amount, in middle)

Hand-
Me: KK
All-in guy: A8

Flop 9K6
Next - 10
River - 7

KKK lost to a nearly impossible 4 card straight. (Double LOL) (He seat and waited. Finished top 2 and onto the next round.)

Left me short stacked and my best chance at the WSOP.

-----------------------------------

Hands like this could happen, but the odds are million-to-1 (probably less)

How random are the hands??? Not that I doubt.

Assuming there are no backdoor flush opportunities you haven't told us about:

Odds of losing hand 1: 1.31%
Odds of losing hand 2: 3.23%

Odds of losing both: ~.04% or about 1 in 2500.

If you think *anything* in poker is anywhere near a million-to-one shot, you need to rethink your expectations.

this reminds me of a homer simpson quote that goes something like this:

"aww.. what are the odds of getting sick on a weekend.. like, a thousand to one!"
