View Full Version : A dilemma

Somehow I was coerced into promising to buy a cat with part of my "excess" bankroll for our new apartment by my girlfriend. I of course checkraised with "OK, but I get to name it after a poker term". She called. She wants a "Bengal" which is some spotted thing that's 1/8th tiger that I'll have to drive an hour to get and will surely piss off some costa rican mobsters when I cash out enough for it. Anyways I need name help clearly. This is what I got so far:

Big Slick /images/smile.gif

Flop - that about sums it up huh

River

Set - that has the whole gothic thing going for it as well!

My friend suggested "the ducks", "quad paws" and "rolled up kitties over couches"..

Since the thing is draining your bankroll, will have no job and expect you to feed it, will sleep on your furniture all day, will get hair on your clothes, and have a litterbox, how about:

Railbird.

cozee

this way you can have my name in it.(big for my ego) and can call it --coz after you-- or cozy--or just zee. plus if you ever split up she will give you the cat since it has your name and will hate it if she hates you.

If you plan to get him fixed, don't call him "Nuts"

I named my second cat Caro.

Possibilities:

Presto

Stone Killer

Fisher

cats are the rake. Actually, I like Railbird the best, but Rake is a close second.

If he's big and clumsy, you could go for "Trips".

If his purchase price comes from a specific hand that produced a big win, you could name him for that, ie. Aces Up. (Travis McGee named his boat

The Busted Flush in honor of the successful bluff that won it for him).

But Railbird is pretty tough to top.
