Chip Purchase on Ebay

I'm looking to buy some 11.5 gram chips from Ebay. I've done a lot of fishing around the net for info and it seems the quality can vary greatly for these chips. Anybody here have vendors they'd like to give feedback on, either positive or negative? I'm going to buy 1500 to 2000 chips and I like the 11.5's my buddy has as they seem durable and aren't overly pricey. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you're looking to go economical, and that makes sense if you're going to buy 1500+ chips. By the way, what are you buying that many for? Tourneys w/ more than 24 people?

In any event, there are a variety of 11.5 gram options, but I actually prefer the 8.5/9 gram diamond chips. I think the 11.5 feel much heavier that casino poker chips and they have kind of a metallic clank to them when they hit the table (probably because the metal disc at the center of each one).

I've also found that more color options are available to you with the diamond chips than with the 11.5 gram dice or suited or striped chips.

Finally, the diamond chips are generally cheaper and if you're buying that many, you'll definitely save a little dough that way.
