Most poker lit as well as people on this forum advise exercising careful game selection - I was wondering how you would do this in practice on a Party $5/$10 6-max table if you have not played enough at this limit to specifically know who the fish are. Do you look at average pot size? Observe a table for awhile and try to spot poor play?

An unrelated question - what would you say is the proper bankroll requirement to make the jump to $5-$10 6-max at Party?

I would say anything over $3000 would be a good bankroll for 5-10. If you are new to the games then I would probably start out at games that are in the middle of the pot size range, so you can avoid the super aggressive tables first.

After you get to know the players you can just sit at any table, as long as they aren't at the very bottom of the pot size list. Sometimes you will sit at a table with everybody else having a VP$IP of 25% and you can move.
