Is it even worth going? It seems like all the attraction is for people that can gamble/drink.

I am 24, look 16, and the only time I am ever carded is cashing out at the Bellagio.

What do I do if they card me?

How much would a trip cost excluding airfare? I havn't looked into prices on rooms yet but I hear the weekends are a lot more expensive than weekdays, is that right? How is the Luxor? I havn't heard it mentioned much on these boards but I've talked to some people who said it was nice and not too expensive.

depends on where your coming from?
if your under 21 and you want to play poker i think Arizona is still 18 but im not sure. AZ people is this correct?
AZ is fun also even if your under 21. Mills ave. is a fun place.

AZ is no longer 21. Two happy years of playing poker, then they take it all away from me! Oh well, able to play there in 9 days. : /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If you are wanting to play a lot of poker in Vegas and you are underage, I wouldn't risk the trip.

That said, if you don't neccesarily look like you are under 21 and walk around like you own the place, the odds of you getting carded at some point decrease. Although, I guess it depends on what casino you are in and what you are trying to do. I play semi-frequently at a casino in Louisiana and while it's a little different from Vegas casino's in the sense that they have 'door' people that are checking everyone's ID's as they come in - they are hawks nonetheless. I'm 34 and get hawked everytime I come through the joint. I have to admit though, I've never been carded in Vegas - not once...

I can't imagine Vegas being a fun place for someone who's on the verge of being of age. There's too much temptation there and all I see is someone trying to sneak around and ultimately getting themselves into some trouble. Now, your not going to get whisked away to jail or anything but the simple fact that you are sneaking around everywhere and risking your money at the cages when you cant produce an ID doesn't really sound like that much fun to me.

Pray that you haven't purchased any chips yet, because if you have, they're gone.

Perhaps some locals know the least likely place to get carded. And I also remember that I was carded once at the Mirage by an overzealous floorperson.

You think they'd just take your money? That seems pretty ridiculous.

You can't rent a room at a casino unless you're 21. I guess you could stay at Motel 6 near McCarren.

What's there to do in Vegas if you're under 21? Same as any other city if you're under 21.

How old are you, and how old do you look? Also, can you get access to a fake id? Personally, Im 24, but I dont look a day over 16 and last time I was in Vegas I never got carded once for anything.

I think this is the most important thing. Like I said in my other post in this thread, I'm 24 but look 16, but never got carded once in Vegas for anything. However, I must admit, I do tend to walk around unknowingly with a dont f*ck with me face. I think that may have had a lot to do with it also and trying to fake that may be more difficult than it seems I dont know.

Two people in the same thread that are "24 and don't look a day over 16." Weird.

18, most people mistake me for 20 so with a little work I could probably look 21 no problem. And, I could probably find a fake i.d. but it wouldn't be a very good one. I don't know what i.d. safeties are, but what if they run it through one of those machines that checks the strip?

Someone told me to find a person that's 21 who would let me use their birth certificate and SS card to go to the DMV and tell them I lost my drivers license, but the consequences with that plan seem a lot more severe than just getting a fake one.

Well, then your screwed. You probably wont get arrested, just your id will be confiscated, any chips you have on your person will be confiscated, and you will be removed from the building.

A better plan is to find someone you know that is 21+ who looks like you that would be willing to go to the dmv thereself and tell them they lost there id and get a new one. Then have them give you the new or old one it doesnt matter. Atleast that way if they do scan the thing in Vegas it is a legit id. You'd just have to pretend to be someone else the whole time your there. Also, I dont know what kind of consequenses you'd be facing if caught. Probably the same as above, if you told them you just found the id on the ground somewhere.

Lie's lie's lie's. Of course, Im not suggesting you do any of this, just giving you your options.

Dude, there's lots of high school chicks running around looking for fun. Have a buddy score some booze and you're off. At least this is what Ulysses told me he does, it he always enjoys his trips to Vegas.

This isn't the response you want, but save your money and wait three years. No way you're going to win down there at the tables while you're looking over your shoulder for the poker room manager the whole time. I just can't imagine it would be fun to sit and worry about getting nabbed at any moment.

If you're content to go there without doing any gambling, you probably could get into some of the clubs. There's always plenty to walk around and see.

I think another big factor is the time of year. My girlfriend and I went over spring break and I got carded at every single blackjack table. I'm 28 and don't look that young, but they were obviously on alert for 20 year-old college kids. Personally I don't think I'd risk a trip unless you are getting great deals on rooms, etc.
That said, I'm going to be in Vegas this weekend. Anyone interested in getting together for some sessions, please pm me.

if i were you i would get a fake id, the best kind are friends or brothers that are actually 21 and look similar to you.

I am surprised noone else has said this. Forget about fake IDs. Dress and act like you are 21. If someone asks for ID, search your pockets and tell the person you forgot your ID and then leave and go somewhere else.

Getting caught with a fake ID can get you into all kinds of trouble.
