I saw this on the travel channel and being that I'm going with 4 friends to vegas in July I want to know if it'll work...almost every casino on the strip gives away match play tickets, you use the match play plus a $10 bet on blackjack, and now your bet is worth $20. On the travel channel, this guy went in with a partner and they both used a match play ticket at blackjack at 7 different casinos, usually 1 person would win and 1 would lose so they would break even, but at 1 place they both won so they came out ahead for the day. Does anyone know how to figure out exactly what your odds are for making some cash doing this?

1 person would win and 1 would lose so they would break even

If 1 person lost and one won that would be a $10 profit between the two of them. The winner wins $20 of real money and the loser loses $10.

The problem is that you usually have to wait in line to sign-up for a players card to get one match play ticket which can then only be used at a small stakes table. The match play ticket is surrendered whether you win or lose. I think that you can find a better use for you time while on vacation.

coupon-ing is a rather common LV practice...
but the waiting in line at the promotional windows is probably a pain.

i believe there are a dedicated few (homeless, addicts, +ev types) that get their coupons at the same casinos everyday.

it's helpful to know which casinos have the best coupons which is probably best accomplished by experience.

you may be able to get some coupons for some casinos over the internet too so that's something you may be interested in checking out. i'm not really sure about this...but it's possible.
