$1./$2 typical online suspects

Hero in BB w/A7o. All fold to cut off who open/raises. SB calls. Hero raises. (CO is new player who I think is trying to steal the blinds)

CO and SB both call.

Flop comes 5cJhTc. SB checks. Hero bets. CO calls

and SB folds.

Turn comes 7h. Hero bets and CO calls.

River brings a Td. Hero bets and CO folds.

Was I crazy for raising preflop and then leading all the way? Thanks in advance.

Don

p.s. Did I thwart a blind steal or just suck out....or both?

You certainly saw an example of how raising gives you an extra way to win. I'm sure you had the best hand at the end, and probably at the beginning. But with any J ot T I'm sure he calls you right down.

With the SB playing though I don't think I raise A7o. Make it A7s or AT and I like it a lot better.

There aren't any hands I will limp on the button with if I'm first in, so it's hard for me to put him on a hand. If he's a good player he might be trying to trap you and limp re-raise if he thinks you're agressive. But at the 1/2 limit he's probably got a very mediocre hand and thus your raise is justified.
