View Full Version : Going to Vegas for a month

Around the 15th of july, I will go to Vegas for about a month. It will be my first trip to Vegas, even my first trip to the states. What makes it even more exciting is that I pay for it with my poker winnings. So you understand it should be cheap /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

What would be a good choice for a hotel for such a period of time and are there any ways to get the room cheaper than they advertise with? I have read a couple of times that this is possible if I play a lot of poker at that casino. How exactly does that work? Also how does the comp system work? I have no idea, since I don't think we have that over here in the Netherlands. Well, we probably have, but I don't gamble here, since there's no live poker anywhere nearby.

Any advice on things I should see or visit is appreciated as well, although I'll be able to find some good advice about that in the archives.

Thanks in advance,

Peter

I suggest Budget Suites.

Well, Budget Suites is fine if you dont mind the crack addicts, hookers and occassional shootings. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Since you will be spending most of your time at the poker tables, you can probably avoid the unseemly characters staying at the B.S. and just hang out with the unseemly characters at the tables. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If you have any money at all, I would stay at a place like the Monte Carlo, which I think is only about 60 bucks a night for poker players.

LGPG and bring your gun.

Try Super 8 Ellis Island on Koval St. one block behind the Bellagio. I stayed there for a week during the Bellagio WPT finals. The rooms are not bad and the prices reasonable $60 during the week and $120 Friday & Saturday and within walking distance of both Bellagio & Mirage. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

The Red Rooster is a good place if you like multi-way action.

Talk of the Town is a fun place, and you can have photos taken with a naked lady in your arm.

The Chicken Ranch in Pahrump has a nice stable of sexy girls to choose from. They will send a chauffeur to pick you up if you want.

Casino Royale, Lady Luck, and Fitzgerald's are high quality and have good hotel rates.

I can't speak for Budget Suites, but I stay at a similar type month to month place just a block off the strip and haven't seen any crack addicts, hookers, or shootings (at least none that are overt).

$640 a month, clean, a kitchen, and about a 10-12 minute walk to the Mirage. $30/month for a bus pass that can get you easily to any poker room on the strip or downtown.

I think u'd be crazy to stay at a hotel if you're on any kind of budget.

Check Blair House Suites. They gotta site, just search for it. I'm sure other similar type month to month places aern't as bad as some would make them out to be.

This is a ridiculous misrepresentation. I stayed there for six weeks during the WSOP last year with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I came in and out in the middle of the night and never once felt even remotely threatened.

Having said that, it does appeal to people with transient lifestyles, including strippers and working girls.

LGPG and bring your gun.

But PB makes it sound like it's a dangerous place. It isn't.

As I said I'm from the Netherlands where crack addicts and hookers actually can put "crack addict" and "hooker" as their occupation on their tax form. And as long as the shootings won't keep me from sleeping I'd be fine /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

These are all places I can find at home as well. Any other suggestions?

This sounds good. At least it will allow me to keep a slightly bigger roll for play. Thanks.
