was over at commerce late late last night. i went to play 80-160 but unfortunately for me they were spreading 150-300 instead. later they tried to lower it to 100-200 to get some 40-80 players to come over but when that failed they made it 200-400. oh well.

tempers were flaring and sociopathic behavior at real high in the extremely good loose aggressive 40-80 game i was in. this hand came up 7 handed.

i had KsTs and limped utg. maniac in cutoff raised, button lady who was very loose and weird called two cold, sb called, bb very loose 3 bet, i called, the rest called. 5 of us for 3 bets each.

the flop is T83 w/ two hearts. sb checked, bb bet, i raised, maniac 3 bet, strange lady on the button called 3 cold, sb folded, bb capped it all in, all called. 4 of us.

the turn was Qc. i checked, cutoff checked, lady button now bets. i called, maniac called.

the river is Kc. i bet.

comments?

Why limp preflop? Is your hold on these players that strong that you can make up big EV post flop.

What happened to collecting your rightful 3bb/hr?

"i had KsTs and limped utg"

What happened to sitting back and claiming your rightful three big blinds/hour?

No 80-160 game at all on a Saturday night? Only one 150-300 game?

"What happened to sitting back and claiming your rightful three big blinds/hour?"

i was talking about *your* 3 bbs an hour when i said that. sorry if i underestimated, only reason i can assume you keep bringing it up.

"No 80-160 game at all on a Saturday night? Only one 150-300 game?"

i mentioned to the floor i thought it was silly they have 3 40-80 games and one 150-300 game and that was it. as suspected the guy looked at me like i was an idiot and didnt say anything. (it was very dead btw, guess everyone's in vegas?).

Yeah, in a game where I can expect to have to put a few bets in pre-flop, I'll often fold this out of position. It's just rarely all that fun to play. But I don't hate the limp.

However, when it gets raised and 3-bet and the maniac has another chance to raise, I'm folding this one. Especially in a game where I can't fold top pair.

"But I don't hate the limp."

im not sure, i dont know what to think. i dont like to say it's close. there should be a way to figure this out, i dont have poker tracker for my live play.

they were just playing so so so so loose and very aggro preflop and on the flop, but slowing down on the turn and river. basically whenever i played a hand i knew i would be putting a million dollars to get to showdown: 160-160-80-80. but suited big cards even w/ a T just seemed like too much for me to be giving up, even out of position.

in my normal relatively more sensible 20-40 game i just dump it because i dont like my position or feel like i need to scramble with medicore hands. at commerce last night i felt like i was staring down at a monster compared to the typical showdown hands.

I've always felt that jump from 40-80 to 80-160 is too big. They should go for 60-120. Any suggestion of logic is usually greeted by the same sort of blank stare you received.

Agreed, but I still think KTs is really hard to play from early position. It's even less attractive when the table texture is aggressive.

Hopefully you took my comment that I made as a joke and not so much as being literal.
