Super Casino by Pete Earley
Fly on the Wall by Dick Odessky
No Limit by John L. Smith
Green Felt Jungle by Ed Reid & Ovid Demaris

I'm looking for a couple interesting books about Vegas(hopefully true stories). Have any of you read these?

The first places to check for book reviews are to search here and to look at http://www.jetcafe.org/~npc/reviews/gambling/index.html
Also, the Gamblers Book Club has some reviews. The books you are asking about are old and not poker specific, so you might not have too much luck. Another place to look is Amazon. Look up each book and see if there are reader reviews on each page.

Huh. I had thought I had written a review of this book,
but I guess not. It's a bit dry, and needless to say, its
focus is anti-casino, but it has some interesting
historical information. I'll see if I can find time to
post a complete review at my web site in the near future.

On the same vein, I strongly recommend Michael Konik's
books and "The Players" by Sheehan. There are others
that are good as well.

Thanks Nick. I actually have your reviews page bookmarked, but I forgot that you have reviews of non-strategy books.

Based on those, it actually looks like The Players may be what I'm looking for.

I'm glad you find the reviews useful.

There are two other books on my list that I have not yet read,
but which might also be up your alley:

"Suburban Xanadu" by David Schwartz
and
"Neon Metropolis" by Hal Rothman

both of these look good, but as I said, I haven't yet
had time to read them.

Too many interesting books, too little time... .

I'm in the middle of "Gambling Wizards" by R. Munchkin. It's a series of interviews with five or six professional gamblers. Very readable and full of information.
