At the beginning of his books in his bio it states that he created a new poker game called "poker challenge" soon to hit casinos...Anyone know anything about this game?

I think I remember, but I'm not 100% sure. Here's the game:

Three Hold 'Em hands are dealt face up. You select one hand to win, and the casino gives you an even-money bet on that hand vs. the other two. The odds of the bet never change, and you can't change the amount of the bet once the hands are dealt.

This game is only slightly -EV for the player who plays perfect strategy, and Sklansky thinks it's good practice for Hold 'Em players. Personally, I think it's a waste of time. Anybody with a computer can run numbers on hands, and get the same practice at home w/ out placing bets.

Its called Hold'em Challenge. Do a search for it and you'll find the story.

If you're ever at the Mandalay Bay, they have this game near their pokerroom. It looks pretty much like a video poker machine except that if you look closely it says "Hold'em Challenge".

Yeah, it's only slightly -EV, but trust me when I tell you; Losing streaks are like every bad beat you've had in a single session rolled into one, and the initial interest and novelty wear off VERY quickly. Mine wore off after the 9th straight loss I had picking the the best overall hand each time. Frustrating game.
