Final table of B&M Limit tournament. 7 players left. I have the 2nd shortest stack with 775. Short stack is ~600 and on the button. Blinds 100-200, game is currently 200-400. 3 Fold to me. I have 66. I raise to 400. Folded to real loose, and lucky, SB, who calls. BB calls also. Flop JJ4 rainbox. Checked to me. I check. Turn is a 9. No flush draw. Checked to me. I bet allin for 375. SB calls, BB raises. SB folds 74s. BB shows J4o, to have me drawing dead with the full house.

Please tell me if this was a bad beat or if I made a bad play. Initially, I was POed that someone would call a raise with J4o, then I started thinking that I really shouldn't have raised, or at least been in the hand, with 66.

Please post your thoughts. Thanks!

For being the semi short stack, you almost have to play, especially if it can be heads up with one of the blinds. He just made a poor play, and benefited from it. Not much you can do.

I would have moved in PF with that hand unless the money was a big difference between 7th and 6th. If the big blind was Deep stacked then he will call with almost any hand anyway for an extra 400. You have to figure you will be PR anyway.

He can't move in. It's limit.

Folded to real loose...SB,

There's your answer. You don't say how big a stack he has, but if he's as loose as you say, he could be calling with a huge range of hands. On the flop he checks, hoping you'll bet. On the turn, he does the same thing. You can't put him on a J, so you get trapped.

Not a bad play on your part, not even a bad beat, just poker.
