I thought I had posted this last night, but maybe I screwed up, or maybe the moderator thought this wasn't appropriate and deleted it, but there was no <post deleted> message I saw anywhere.

Anyway, I don't know why this post would be inappropriate since I think many people on the forum are buying chips and would want a way to store and transport them in the chip racks...I guess it might help Overstock.com sell a few bags, but this is not different from people talking about sites where they buy the chips, so here goes again.

-------------------------

How to store your chips when you keep them in racks?

As my monthly poker group grew, we bought more chips, primarily so we
could play with a single color chip and have a traditional 3 chip 6 chip
game. We're up to two 10-handed tables each month now, so we got a few
thousand chips and the racks to hold them. Since we now store the chips
in the racks, instead of the slim briefcase chip case, I've been lugging
the chips around in one of those plastic bins with the folding,
interlocking lid flaps...the ones you get at Costco or Frys or anywhere.

Chips are heavy and I realized this storage system wasn't working when I
wrenched my back picking up the box out of the trunk.

The answer...Overstock.com http://tinyurl.com/yvd8g

A Samsonite Fibreloc Plus 1800-denier polyester fabric bag. With two main
equally sized compartments and a small pocket on the outside. Sturdy
handle, sturdy padded shoulder strap. The outside pocket holds decks of
cards, dealer buttons, etc.

But the key dimensions:
Main compartment interior: 10.25 in. H x 3 in. W x 16.25 in. L
Back compartment interior: 10.25 in. H x 3 in. W x 16.25 in. L

Take two chip racks and put them end to end and measure...yes, they are
10.25 in. H x 3 in. W x 16.25 in. L

I just took delivery of the case. Once you cut out a fabric accordion
flap on each side of each flap, you get a chip case that fits 2 chip racks
filled with chips end to end in each side perfectly. Layer on another 3
to 4 more racks and each side holds 2x5=10 racks of chips, and zips shut
tight. Yes, we're talking 2000 chips.

Now this is seriously heavy when filled with 2000 chips and racks. For
storage, it's perfect. For travel, I will be filling it with 2x4 racks on
each side with an empty rack on top of each, or even 2x3 with a few empty
racks. I bought 4 of these bags so I can divide down by color into each
bag, etc. 2000, 1600 or 1200 chips in a nice, small package for under $30
is sweet.

The only other kind of chip case I've found that accomodates
chips-in-racks is the one they use to bring chips to the table when
starting up a new table, and they only hold 1000 chips I think and are
bulky to store and awkward to handle I think.

I have made a side bet with a buddy that after announcing this find on RGP
and 2+2, Overstock.com will sell out in a week. These are THAT perfect.

The most amazing thing...List $170, Overstock...$27 each, $3.00 shipping
for an entire order! And this bag is made to last.

Just thought you might like to know...
