I've seen several paintings of dogs playing poker, but every time I go to a cardroom or house game I never see dogs at the table.

Why don't dogs play poker? I don't want to hear any speciesist crap about how they don't have the mental capacity, good enough jobs to have money to play, opposable thumbs to hold the cards, or the discipline to not wag their tails and drool when they get aces.

Dogs do play poker, but only with Elvis and only in black light.

Dogs do play poker.

For instance, when I play poker, I often feel like a (n under-)dog.

Or, people criticizing my distinct lack of pulchritude might refer to me as a dog, and on occasion, I do play poker.

But no one's ever painted a picture of me playing.
