Over the weekend I decided to make a trip to Blockbuster and rent a DVD I had heard good things about. This movie didn't get to much attention when it was released in theaters. In fact, I remember wanting to see it and was unable to find it in a theatre near me.

"Wonderland" (http://romanticmovies.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wonderlandthemov ie.com%2F)

Cast: Val Kilmer, Kate Bosworth, Lisa Kudrow, Christina Applegate, Josh Lucas, Tim Blake Nelson, Eric Bogosian, Dylan McDermott, Carrie Fisher, Natasha Gregson Wagner, Janeane Garofalo, Ted Levine, Franky G, M.C. Gainey, Faizon Love

The movie chronicles the events leading to the 1981 Wonderland murders and to what extent ex-pornstar John Holmes (Val Kilmer) was involved. The events are recounted from two perspectives. David Lind (Dylan McDermott), whose girl friend was one of the murder victims, Tells his version of what happend. This prompts police too bring Holmes into custody. While detained Holmes tells his side of the events leading to the murders. Suffice to say, the details of the two versions vastly differ. Police are left to decide who is telling the truth.

What a great movie. Terrific acting from an all-star cast and a fantastic sound track. I can't quite understand why this movie didn't get more press when it was originally released. Guess it is just not "mainstream" material. In any event it is well worth the rental price if you are in the mood to rent a DVD.
