View Full Version : wsop-2+2-rendezvous??

04-07-2002, 03:05 AM
i have read some hints that some fellow 2+2ers will be trying to get to together and meet up during the wsop. are there any concrete plans or should we all carry a single long stem yellow rose around for a month or so?? i would love to be able to put a few faces with some nicknames--most of you seem to be the type to have a few beers with, any suggestions?? (i'll be making my appearance for the first 10 days of the series and then probably return for the end) any one else have any plans or ideas?

"...most of you seem to be the type to have a few beers with"

Thanks for the vote of confidence in my poker game...:). The beers I have no problem with; it's the poker that bamboozles me.

G

btw, wish I was going to the WSOP

A good spot to meet would be at our Q&A session at The Mirage at 3:00 pm April 26.

I like Mason's suggestion to rendevous at his Q & A session. Babe will be there.

No goot! The previous day's event is the $1500 Stud/8 tournament, and it's final table starts at 4:00. Since of course I plan on playing at that final table ;-), that will leave only a few short minutes to schmooze before I'll have to head back to Binion's.

Mason,

Unfortunately, you always set these dates up on the weekend I can't be there. I will be in Vegas staying at Binions from April 20th to the 23rd. Will I see you there at the side games, or do I have to trek up the strip to the Mirage to say hello?

Good Luck

Mason,

I think April 20th should be a great day to play limit hold'em. All the limit players that bust out of the tournament will be dying for action. There should be at least 600 of them on tilt.

Good Luck

Babe:

I wish Mason will delegated it to you to take good notes from the Q&A session and then posted them on this forum for those of us who cannot attend, but will be with you in spirit.

Can we count on you, Babe?

04-07-2002, 10:13 PM
babe is not a secretary...gl

Nice sales job Mason! As with last year, you two have it during a weekday afternoon. Why can't you have it at night? I don't think the boss would be too happy if I told him I missed the afternoon at work for a poker conference. Oh well, I suppose if I really was concerned I would just come talk to either of you at the Bellagio...

"I don't think the boss would be too happy if I told him I missed the afternoon at work for a poker conference."

Hey Wildman, you got this all wrong. You're suppose to come up with ways to miss work if you're a [b]real[/i] poker player. That's why we scheduled it when we did.

04-08-2002, 09:11 PM
Of course not!

This was a benign request and nothing more.

I hope you did not take it personally!

04-09-2002, 12:47 AM
Mason- my sentiments exactly. With a name like "Wildbill", I'm sure he can give the boss some excuse to ditch that 9-5 job on April 26th.!! After all, it's not every day that Wildbill gets to rendevous with the 2+2 crowd-- he can see his boss every other day of the year. Come on Wildbill, let your hair down and call in sick or something. I will expect to see you there...Babe

04-09-2002, 12:51 AM
Centurion- the Babe was not insulted..no problem. Perhaps Mason would like to comment on whether he will post some Q&A's from the Q&A session on the 2+2 forum. Sorry you can't make it. Perhaps next year. Babe

04-09-2002, 04:46 AM
Actually, I think it's a great idea. If the Babe will just write them all down I'm sure we can do something.

04-09-2002, 09:43 AM
Mason- my shorthand skills have deteriorated since my poker skills have increased( or vice versa? - Ha, LOL). Perhaps you can tape record the session? Or..have everyone submit written questions at the start of the session that you can then read aloud and elaborate on. You could then take the more interesting of the written questions and post them here with your responses. Or?

04-09-2002, 02:38 PM
ill be there. maybe we should wear nametags with our 2+2 nicks on them?

04-09-2002, 08:52 PM
Mikel. I love that idea about the nametags. Ha, LOL. Maybe we can do caps or T-shirts, too? Cute for sure. Babe needs no nametag-- she will be the one taking notes with the short dark hair and slim figure.

Babe:

Thanks a bunch! That is very nice of you. I am sure many of us unable to attend will be quite grateful to both you and Mason. I owe you one, O.K.?

Moreover, you do not seem to be a primadona the way Scalf jumped to your defence. (Good Lord, what are his dreams/hopes with regards to your persona?) Babe, I forewarned you to be , yes, gentle, but careful with the lonely (poker) guys around the green felt. Some people do fantasize, you know.

Again, thanks for being such a examplary trooper.

Centurion - on your side!

04-09-2002, 10:37 PM
How about "Mason's," or perhaps "2+2 Muchkins?"

I am sure Mason will recall as to what I am referring to here.

04-09-2002, 10:47 PM
Thanks, Mason!

I and many others who are unable to attend this year are, indeed, looking forward to the detailed report.

From what was reported, the last year's session went really well, and the turnout was large.

Centurion- I am not a Primadonna - I am the Babe. Scalf is smart enough to realize that a true Babe does not do menial labor. Of course, taking notes for my fellow 2+2ers is not menial labor....or....is it? Taking chips from my fellow 2+2ers is much more interesting than taking notes and is definately not menial labor...XXOO Babe.

Were you in a Bellagio 30 game this weekend in some sort-of light blue pants and being asked by a female floorperson about your workout habits?

04-10-2002, 12:23 AM
Yes-I was talking to my friend Chris at the 30-60 but I was not playing in it. I was wearing light blue capris, black patent leather sandals and a black t-shirt. That was the Babe, unless an imitator is on the loose....

04-10-2002, 12:31 AM
That narrows it down for the next time I'm there. Can't exactly ask everyone if they're the PokerBabe now can I? See ya at the seminar. I sheduled time away from work (barring a problem) instead of whining about it like Wildbill. :-)

04-10-2002, 07:54 AM
hey, ya go to vegas and what do ya remember...a hooker, who ahem, you met twice,,,yeah sure buddy, and a woman wearing a blue capri....hey man, ya better check your testosterone level...also, if you were taking notes/analyzing play at the poker tables as well as you analyze the landscape...well, i think you would be ready for the wsop...lol..gl

High Desert- OK - look for me at the Q&A. Babe

04-10-2002, 03:46 PM
I was looking over the 30-60 for purely poker related reasons. Maybe I wanted to see if Brier would check-raise bluff on the end with 10-9 against 4 opponents. Can I help it if a floorperson (female) went on and on telling Babe how great she looked and asked her about how often she worked out? Now, my tremendous recall of people will help me become a super-genius champ someday, but it shouldn't be held against me here just because I remember PokerBabe. And as for the other thing, I was a totally innocent victim fresh off the spud truck and probably looked like easy prey to someone experienced in that field. Is that my fault? No, I was a victim I say. My heart is pure here Scalf. :-)

04-10-2002, 06:14 PM
I would never fault you for saying anything nice about the Babe. Glad you liked my pants. (ha,LOL) Babe

its the poker equivalent of a rotary meeting (business types, 6-7 am, leaves the whole day free for work).
