I expect to be in the Seattle area in the near future. Looking for good low limit games - 4/8, 6/12, and maybe... 8/16.

Muckleshoot? Diamond Lil's?

Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd stick to Diamond Lil's if you're looking for $6-12 or $8-16. Muckleshoot has an abundance of $4-8 games, but the next step up is generally a $10-20 at table # 7. Although my buddies tell me the $4-8 games at Muckleshoot are pretty lucrative (can't play there myself, since I'm on the payroll.)

Hope that helps.

Just because you're on the payroll doesnt mean you cant play there. Where do you work at in there?

btw...
The search function will yield lots of stuff about poker in seattle.

F&B shift manager, a position which unfortunately prohibits me from participating in all Casino games...including poker. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

aaahhhhh.

I remembered after i posted that the only one who cant play is management/floor people/pitbosses.

I doubt ive ever seen you in there but do you ever wander into the cardroom in there? I usually only see 2 F&B people in there. Both gals checking the bartenders.

Last fall/winter while working the dreaded graveyard shift, I'd quite often be found watching the Tuesday and Thursday tournaments. But if I recall one of your previous posts, you don't play too many tourneys, or was that Slavic?

Currently, I working the early A.M. shift, out the door by 1:30pm, although I do make occasional forays into the cardroom to watch a hand or two, (too many of the higher bosses about to hang around longer).

Any chance you'd be around that time of day?

The $4/$8 games I have played in at Muckleshoot have been a goldmine. Diamond Lil's is a bit tougher competition, but is beatable if you are patient.

Recently went on vacation to Seattle area. Found a decent small room at the Clearwater Casino on the way to Bainbridge Island. I did a review on this here

They offer to pay your passenger only ferry cost if you ride the ferry over from Seattle.

You're not kidding. I recently played 4-8 for the first time this year. Good god what gravy games. Now if i can just hit a friggin' hand. No bluffing in these games. You have 5+ table cops ready to keep you honest.

Much, much juicier than when i used to live on the 4-8. And they were juicy back then.

Haha, I know exactly who you are, based on that description. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I wondered who the guy in the suit was who came to watch all the tournaments. I was wondering if you were auditing or something.

Cool to see that you post here. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now if I only knew who you three were (Bernie, Slavic, Ed), I could watch somebody who actually knew what in the hell they were doing...unlike Wayabvpar /images/graemlins/grin.gif j/k

Ed was the one with all the chips in front of him.

A role taken up by Slavic now.

Needless to say, they were my chips /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think maybe I played with you once Bernie.

Coupla years ago. You, long blond hair, glasses? Your brother was at the table and drinking... You weren't at the table long, but your brother? kept f_(ing with me....

As I left that night, er morning, he said, "I'd rather be lucky than good."

I'll be up there soon to play with you guys. I'm spending the summer in WA, and I'll let you know when I'm headed up to the Muck.

Yeah, i used to have long blond hair.

If that was the session i remember, by bro put the whole table on tilt early on. In fact, i posted about that night.

He came on drunk, playing maniacally. Entertaining the table as he went.

It was late in the morning. I think i got out of there about 3+am.

What kind of bankroll do you need for the $4/$8 at the Muck? Are they juicy enough that $200 or $300 is enough to sit with? I haven't been up there yet, but there's not a ton of options down here in Olympia, so I've been wanting to check out the Muckleshoot.

I usually buy in for $100, with another $100 in reserve. I have yet to have to rebuy.

Granted, my sample size is small, but I think it is a good indication of the game.

I seriously doubt I have played with anyone that posts here- I haven't played anything bigger than 4/8 at Muck. God knows the average player in those games could benefit from hanging out here though! Hope they never catch on /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I live in North Seattle, and occasionally play at Goldies (15030 Aurora Ave N) (Poker room just opened this year) which usually has at least a 3/6. In the evenings it's usually 2 3/6 and 1 4/8.

Parkers (about 2 blocks north of Goldies) usually has a 4/8 going.

The Hidaway (maybe 1/4 miles S of Goldies) has a 4/8 and a 10/20 regularly.

How do the 4/8 games at the Muck compare to those mentioned above? It's a long drive for me, wheras all those above are pretty much walking distance, but if the games are much softer it's probably worth the drive, at least on weekends.

The 4/8 game is no better than that places you have mentioned. The fact that the muck has like 8 4/8 tables going is what makes it desirable.

For a session roll? my limit is $200 for a 4-8. ie...25 big bets. I buy a rack at a time.

Cmon up. The games are great.

With as many as 12 tables of 4/8 going on the weekend the 4/8 games can be very good. I normally play in them for a few hours a night waiting for larger games, some nights I find 4/8's that are so good I just can't leave. I never thought it was possible to pull $500 off a 4/8 but I've done it twice now.

I'm going to be staying in Shoreline for a few days in mid-July. I'm looking forward to checking out Goldies and the other nearby cardrooms, since according to Mapquest they all look to be within two miles of my sister-in-law's house.

In addition to Goldie's, suggest you check out 4/8 at Parker's on Aurora. Can be very soft at times.

Wow, $500 is a lot for a $4/$8 game. I'm guessing both Friday and Saturday are good days to play, soft games I'm hoping. If they're as good as you say, sounds like it's even better than grinding out $0.50/$1 or $1/$2 on Stars like I am now in my free time.

Two major differences- The room is full of smoke, and they frown at you a lot if you try to play in your underwear =)

I haven't hit the $500 mark in a 4/8 game yet, but only because I didn't stay longer than 3 hours. I have no doubts at all that it could be done (my high water mark was $376 in 2.5 hours).

Good point. They probably won't let you play more than one table at a time either. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can't wait to check it out sometime...

Caution. I have had a $500 win in a $4/8 game. It was not at the Muck.

However, this is an anomaly. You cannot expect to win $500 in a $4/8 session unless you get extremely lucky. Yes, it can happen, but don't expect it at the Muck or anywhere else, IMO.
