Hey..I'm going to be going to vegas soon and I was just wondering what's good and what's not. My friend wants to stay at the flamingo but we know nothing about it. I want to play no limit, maybe a 2-4,3-6,4-8,5-10, or 6-12..possibly higher.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

For your needs, I would go to the Bellagio.
I think they still have the $200 buy-in No-Limit game and the $4-8 games I played there at night were the best in town that I played in. Plus, the high limit section and the pros everywhere makes you like a kid in a candy store. Its great.

Your best bet for the most selection of no limit HE is the Bellagio and the Horeshoe (at least through the end of the World Series).

Bellagio has a great cardroom, but the NL at The Palms will be softer. If you're looking for game selection, the Horseshoe is an easy pick. The Bellagio is right next to the Flamingo.

BTW, did you know you can get cheaper room rates if you book through a casino's poker room? A weekday room at the Mirage a few weeks ago was $179, we got if for $89. The Luxor's rate this weekend was $289, we got quoted $119 through the poker room. I would definately recommend booking through a poker room, and the Flamingo doesn't have one.

Good luck...

The Flamingo has a small poker room.

right right...I don't think we are planning to play at the flamingo but just stay there..but then again booking through the poker room seems like a good idea. I'll check the rates.

Also..what limits do you guys recomment playing? We always play .25/50 or 1-2 blinds. I've played online before but just for ultimate points. Our live games are usually good games so what's the lowest limit for a good game to play at?

Thanks

Excaliber has good 1/3 and 1/6 spread limit games that are good for beginners. Monte Carlo and Luxor have 2/4 and 4/8 games that are good too.
