I think Rock's stand up is better and more thought provoking (which I think is part of any stand-up's job). Chappelle's show is funnier (word?) than what Chris Rock did on HBO.

If these guys got together to make a show that would be unbelievably funny.

i think chris rock is clearly the funnier stand-up. in fact i think chris rock is one of the funniest all-time, and certainly the funniest stand-up today.

I've seen more Chris Rock stand up so I don't no if I can compare them evenly.

How many of you guys have actually seen Chappelle's stand up? Its damn funny, and I would have to say its funnier than Rocks too.
Chappelle has the better show, the better movies, and the better stand up. Hands down.

i have seen chappelle's standup, it's fabulous. i would have considered myself a dave chappelle fan way before the show aired.

even so, chris rock's standup is just plain funnier. he's the best in the biz right now.

dave's movies and tv show have been better than chris' movies and tv shows for sure, but wasn't the question strictly about standup?

maybe I just think he is funnier because he is more current. Their both damn funny, I don't think either is really better than the other.

I didn't get a chance to see Chris Rock's new HBO special. But as of late, Dave Chapelle is the man. I never miss Comedy Central on Wednesday nights. Something about his delivery is just hilarious. In pure comedy I'd give the edge to Chapelle, but in terms of social commentary Rock says more. Killing Em Softly and Bigger and Blacker are very very close IMO.
