Was this idiotic?

$20 Party SnG. Blinds 100-200. One short stack w/ about 400 left is SB. I have 2100 in chips in the BB. UTG is bad and has 3600 or so. Other player has about 1000. I could have pretty much coasted into the money, but here goes.

I pick up AA on the BB. UTG limps, folded to me and I make it 700. He calls. Flop is 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif6 /images/graemlins/club.gif

I move in for 1400 into the 1500 pot. He flopped a set of 2's and there I go. The only player that could even cut my stack in half just busted me.

Is this an AWFUL play or do I just chalk it up to bad luck this time? Should I move all my chips in before the flop and just take the limp.

I would have pushed preflop. Even for another 500, his call is horrible, but what can ya do....
