Got to post these two hands. I got smoked by this guy for a lot of money. He was playing and raising with crap and winning. The few good hands I had I took really bad beats on. He was such a maniac playing almost every hand I thought for sure he was easy money. He was pushing people around with his crazy betting. Just got to know if this was bad luck or bad plays by me.

On hand 2... I don't understand your call on the river, you can't even beat A high. He did call your pot bet on the flop, so he must have something. If you put him on a draw, any that he would have called with would have completed/paired up on the turn. I think it was probably best to fold and wait for a better opportunity next time.

First...who is the maniac? You don't identify which spot he is.

In the first hand I don't like the raise. What are you trying to do with that?

Also, your calls on both rivers look really poor to me. Did this guy put you on tilt?

I agree the call on the river on the second hand is horrible. I assume you mean the last call on the turn on the first hand - I don't think it's a bad play at all to call for the last $3.50. Even if you knew you were up against a small set you'd be somewhat close to getting even money (something like 24:1 odds on 17:1), so you've gotta call there.

I think the best play is to fold on the flop. Even if you are ahead, there's a good chance someone will catch up with an overcard (or the str8, as it turned out) and it's more likely you're behind to a bigger overpair or a set. I think continuing after the flop raise is a win small or lose big situation.

Hand #1 - Maniac was CO, he had been playing almost every hand I was in, probably because he was taking my money. It was getting personnel and I was borderine on tilt. I know 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif isn't the best hand from the BB but it was the best I'd seen in a while. I had an overpair after the flop and when MP3 raises I can't believe CO called with a draw, probably because I wouldn't have. He had been getting really lucky though. I never thought he had a str8. I had caught him earlier raising and calling with nothing better than overcards and bottom/middle pair. I thought the turn bet was strong except of course I was beat by then.

Hand #2 - Maniac was UTG+1 on this one.I thought I did OK until the turn on this one. Upon further review the call on the river was retarded, got to keep betting big. Any sign of weakness he had come back hard on. Again I can't believe he called my preflop raise with 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif After the flop he's got nothing but bottom pair. Your right though, the call on the turn made no sense. I was mad by this point and obviously not playing smart anymore.
