[Sorry about crossposting, but after posting it in B&M, I thought I might get some more answers from this group.]
Hi, all:
I'm going to be taking a trip to AC in May, the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. The original plan was that weekend, but my wife misread the calendar and made the reservations for May 22-24 instead of 29-31 (heh!), but after thinking about it, decided it might be less crowded anyway, and after clearing the vacation day at work, we decided to just stick with it. Besides, that clears my decks for a chess tournament I wanted to play in on the real Mem. Day weekend.
Anyway, I was browsing the websites of AC casinos I knew had poker rooms, and noticed that the Trop has NL tournaments on Sat. and Sun. ($50+15 and $40+15, respectively), and am thinking about playing in one (assuming I can clear it with She Who Must Be Obeyed ). Has anyone had experience with these? Any pointers on what to expect (size of field, level of competition, etc.)? And is there anything I should know with respect to protocol (this would be my first live tourney)? If I should be good/lucky enough to cash, should I tip the dealers if I just place or only if I win the whole thing; if so, how much, and how do I go about doing that?
Anything else I should know, that I didn't think to ask?
Oh, also; are there any other AC casinos that would offer one-day weekend tourneys? It looked like the Borgata and the Taj only offer them M-F, or did I overlook something?
