The Alamo is a good movie. Not great or spectacular but certainly worth seeing. The acting is well done and nothing is really overblown and fairly accurate from an historical perspective (By most accounts Crockett was probably executed). At least it is not a 'typical Hollywood' movie or a John Wayne saga of epic bullshit.

If I remember correctly Santa Anna is quite a colorful character. He cost Mexico a lot with his antics, which were many in his long tenure in politics and as a general. I believe the leg he lost in one of his battles is preserved in a solution and is still on display in Mexico somewhere. A movie about Santa Anna's life and career would be far more interesting than the Alamo movie.

Remember the Alamo – and pay the eight or so dollars to see the movie.
