THought some people might be interested in this. It would be great if they did expand Poker to the racetracks in NH

I saw a flyer a couple of weeks ago at the RedHook brepub in Newington (near Portsmouth) announcing a $125 NL tourney for charity near the end of this month. I now wonder if this is the same organization running this tournament.

They said in the article that the expenses differ from night to night thus the different payouts. I hope they expand poker to racetracks (Rockingham is 8 miles yehaaaa)

The tourneys are held somewhere in Manchester. I have never been, but it looks pretty good.

If you wanted a smaller tourney, Nashua has one every Friday and Sunday. Typically 10-40 people play
Friday is a $100+35 (8-12 people play)
Sunday is a 40+10 with a rebuy (20-40 people)

The tournaments are run by a company called the New England Fundraising Co. which is located at the Elks Hall (I believe) in Nashua NH. They run roulette and various table games every Thurs-Sun, or they were as of a couple of months ago in the Elks hall. They have been having Hold Em tournaments on Fri eve and Sunday afternoon for awhile. I did play in one of the first about 9 months ago on a Sunday. there were as I recall about 3 tables and the entry fee was $40 if you paid in advance or $60 at the door. I believe they also have ring games but because of the $2 betting limit it didn't seem to be to popular. Their primary purpose is to raise money for charity and it sounds as if some charitable organizations have hired them to do just that. The problem as I see it is that a good deal of the entry money goes towards the charity. But I suppose for us New Englanders it gives us an alternative to a 2 or 3 hour drive to Foxwoods...

Daryn,

by the way, when is the next one??

Why the hell would you want to play in this tournament when they take 30%+ of the prize pool off the top and the drive is nearly the same to Foxwoods?

Peace,
Joe Tall

yeah i was wondering about the details of the rake, but the drive to rockingham, which is where i thought the tourneys were held, is only about 25 minutes up 93, compared to the 100 minutes at least for foxwoods

04-20-2004, 08:25 AM
Well if you go to Foxwoods, their Sunday Monrning Tourney was 50+15, which is a 30% rake. This is very similar to the Nashua Tourney.

By the way, if you call in advance on Sat. for the Sunday Tourney, it will only be $40 from what I have been told

Update on the tourney
- 100 buyin
- 50 re-buy (1st 3 levels, unlimited under 500 in chips)
- 50 addon
- Every other monday night (This coming monday 5/14)
- Starts at 6 PM
- Open the doors at 1PM for mini tourneys and 1/2 limit games
- THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: THE RAKE
They will rake 20% of the prize pool.
- They have been selling out 225 max, 9 per table

Hope this helps, maybe we will see some 2+2ers up there
