Happened to bump into Matt Savage again last night and discussed quite a few things with him...very nice of him to chat to me if I say so myself ...as those that know me are very aware of my non stop incessant talking :-))))))
Slight changes will take place for this years main $10000 buy in No Limit event.
When you pay your entry you will be issued a table and seat number at the time of buy in.
They will assume 1600 players and 200 tables.
Actually there are 100 tables so each will be assumed to be 8 handed and half will play one day and the other half of the entrants the next.
That is half the field plays on alternate days and that's why there is a whole week allocated for the event.
So far around 260 have been reportedly qualified by Internet sites and actual entries for the main event start next week.
The WSOP have no direct involvement with the internet qualifiers and deliberately keep it this way so make sure you find the rep for your internet cardroom if you're an online qualifier or get precise instructions from them well in advance (I know there were a few hiccupos with on line qualifiers being fed into the Bellagio super yesteerday).
The maximum number of straight entries allowed will be 2000 players and any in excess of this will be alternates...that is they can't play until someone is knocked out.
If at all possible extra tables will be brought in and each table will be a amximum of 9 handed as they do not want ten handed tables.
