PokerTracker question: Manual note entry?

How do I make manual notes on players--that have no exported notes (yet) or that already have PokerTracker exported notes--and ensure that the notes will survive my next PokerTracker notes export?

You can either enter them on Party (or whatever else) then import, or you can type them manually in PT. Then, when you go to export the notes, there is an option to keep existing notes, which go underneath the PT stats in the Party notes.
