You're a lucky son-of-a-bitch! JK, nice start!

(I won 71 percent of my showdowns tonight so I'm feeling rather fortunate myself (a nice little plus 75 BB night over about 330 hands)).

Zetack,

Alas it wasn't to be....I came down hard late last night. After I posted this I took the dog out for a walk and when I got back I sat down to play another short session and gave back all my winnings except for $30 /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Guess it is better than losing for the night.
Gotta love that variance

Awesome start dude!

Hand 1: I would have reraises the flop. Maybe a bit aggressive, but you just sat down, and that one extra bet may help you the rest of the night. Plus, you may be ahead, and have chances to improve. Otherwise, looks good to me.

Hand 2: To me, A9s in MP is a tough hand. I am really looking for a flush draw. Hitting an ace is not that great of a flop for you as there are many Ace hands that you are behind (AK, AQ, AJ, AT, A3 and A7) Given the preflop action, AK and AQ are unlikely, but the others are possible.

When the 9 hits, I would go for the check-raise. The reason being this: One of the flop callers likely have an ace. If you check, then could sense weakness and bet, opening the door for a check raise.

Hand 3: I muck that ATo in that position without hesitation unless the table conditions are just right. And with this being your first orbit, I doubt you have a strong read on the table.

Hand 4: Looks good!

Hand 5: I would re-raise the turn. That card is VERY unlikely to have helped him.

On the river, I bet out and call a raise. Check-raising is not a good idea for a couple of reasons: (1) If he has the flush, what do you do if he 3-bets you? (2) If he doesnt have the flush, he himself will fear a check raise and check it through.

These are just my thoughts. I could be out in left field on these...if I am, I would love to hear some counter arguements /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great start to a night rake,

Gotta love when it starts this way.

I had a rough night last night at AP. Fish where boiling big time. One gut hit 2 RR flushes in a row.

Tonight the fish will suffer

This is true, ideally I make the flush, But I have to play what I am given and A9 ain't all bad in an any ace game. I decided to be the aggressor and just happened to catch the nice turn and river...sure made my life easier /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

These are just the 1st six I vp$ip I had actually been through a full orbit or more by this time. I decided to try and isolate a weak limper with my raise. Never expected to win it right there, but hey can't complain.

This was an interesting hand I thought I might get a couple comments on. My thinking was he might have slow played AK when he called my flop raise and then raised the turn. This was the reason I didn't 3 bet the turn. As far as the river goes, I gave very little thought to the flush in a heads up pot and felt comfortable with my plan to c/r. Didn't work out though...I think the flush card scared him or he might have taken the bait.

Thanks for the comments,
TheRake

All look good to me except the KJ hand. You really don't want to checkraise and get 3-bet here and you don't want it to get checked through either. Bet and call a raise.
