This movie is OK. For this particular genre (For all you Rock fans this is a good word learn. Open the dictionary.) it is a cut above all the Segal movies and most of the Van Damme movies, with the exception of Blood Sport which is a true classic.

I thought the action choreography could have been better. Maybe the Rock is used to kicking too much ass for real in the WWE for the fight scenes to be effective.

On the positive side there is some pretty funny redneck humor that goes several layers deep. The best line in the movie is "A truck for a truck", as opposed to "an eye for an eye". I laughed out loud but no one else in the theatre seemed to get it.

Boris,
as a Rock fan, thanks for the tip on the word. I'll be sure to check it out once I figure out what this "dictionary" thing you also mentioned is.
I read somewhere (one of those entertainment magazines my wife has lying around) that the mercedes scene was real. The Rock was supposed to do a WWF on the car, but, not knowing this and getting caught up in the moment, didn't pull his punch. All this with the car owner in the filming audience.

I liked the movie, btw. Anything that has a hawaiian influence, casinos as an integral part of the storyline, and gives me another chance to laugh at the pacific northwest is alright in my book.

BTW, where can I find a casino like that? all they need is a playstation room and a fishing lake it's complete

Yes it is and these are based on a true story.

Maybe the movie was not that great(the origional) but it is still a cool story.
