I was flipping through Super System last night and I looked into the glossary. Omaha was defined as something to this effect - ...used interchangably with Tight Hold Em where players must use both hole cards... What it did not mention was that players were dealt 4 hole cards. Does anyone know how Omaha got its start? Was it originally a 2 hole card game? When did it change to 4? Or, did Super System just fail to mention that? Since the text was published in 1978, I thought that maybe the game had evolved.

Bob Ciaffone has a couple pages on the subject in his book "Omaha Holdem Poker". I am too lazy to type it up. But book is worth a purchase.
