For those of you that don't know, Bugsy's Club has a 40% bonus up to $200 max on all first-time deposits that expires at Midnight 04/12/04. That's the FYI.

Now, the difficulty with this is the bonus looks like a bitch to clear. You have to accumulate 100 Bugsy's Points to clear $10 in bonus. Additionally, you cannot cashout any of the initial qualifying deposit until you've cleared the entire bonus. Well, you can, but you forfeit the amount of the bonus that you haven't cleared at that point if you cashout.

Normally, I'd jump all over this as this is an excellent opportunity for a whore such as myself. However, I'm not so sold on it yet. The nice thing is they do give you points for tournament and sit and go entry fees that count towards the bonus. The negative is there are not a lot of players at the site. It wouldn't be such a bad thing if they had ring games going with players in them, then I'd take advantage of this one. But, the site just isn't highly populated.

I do have a friend who put some money in Bugsy's a month or so ago and says he cashed out Sunday and the money was in his neteller account within 48 hours, so that sounds good.

Anyone else have any comments?

There never seems to be anybody there, the games are so sporadic you'll be lucky to find the game you want when you want. Not to mention that game selection will be horrendous as they are associated with Pokerpages online poker school. Having said that I've played there so its based upon observation only.

If you like tourneys at all bugsy's is the place to go. All NL tourneys start out with 10000 in tchips. Cashouts are fast I got mine always at the next 7 o'clock. And on the occasion that a 3-6 game springs up. 100 pts is nothing.

Best tournaments on the internet, bar none.

It's the WSOP format.

And the players aren't as good as you'd think.

I tried it out.........
Pros

1. Play was very loose and chasers in limit, NL was a bit tighter but still some real bad calls.

2. My first cashout took only 2 hours.

3. Tournaments are great and layed out well.

4. Bonus worked off slightly faster then normal.

Cons

1. The software SUCKS! When I mean it SUCKS I mean the only software worsr in my opinion is Intercasino. Massive memory hog, its slow and lots of lag and boots.

2. Many players are abusive and rude.

3. Very rare to find a limit game over 1/2

4. Rakes halves in 2/4 - 4/8

5. Rakes unflopped uncalled raises i.e. in 4/8 blinds are 2 and 4 and you raise from earlier position and noone calls you only get $9.50. I guess that means they dont have the usual no flop no drop.

6. Only one cashout per week no exceptions.

I honestly did not like the place but 40% I would go there again and play to work it off.

I just went to their web site but couldn't find the 40% to $200 bonus, all they had was the regular 20% up to $100? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I received the offer in an email, I can't find anything regarding it on the site either.

This alone should cost you much more than you would get back from the rake rebate. 100 raked hands to get $10 back seems very slow. Ten cents per hand and you have one no flop with a drop that costs you 50 cents would eat up several hours worth of rake rebate (bonus). JMHO

How do you earn 1 Bugsy point? Is it 1 point per raked hand? Is it variable depending on the rake (like UB)? How many points do you get for SnG tournaments?

Bugsy's was the first online poker room I ever played at because I liked reading pokerpages. They have an excellent reward system if you make them your main poker room, and because of this you will see the same 10-20 people there grinding it out 8-12 hours a day. Complete rock garden at all levels, Only pluses are the varied tournament schedule, fast reliable payouts, and a 3/6 Omaha/Hold em split game. It's hard to clear that bonus, hella hard even if you play every table in the joint at once 8 hours a day. It probably won't be profitable either. I'm suprised the room has hung around so long, I almost went back for their High Roller Club, but the 15/30 game never got off the ground. There are much more profitable places to whore.

If i recall correctly BBP/h are dependent on Rake collected for a hand you were dealt cards in. Which would be great if you could find a game high than 2/4. There are lots of BBP multiplier hours, as an incentive to get tables going at off hours. But it's still a rough go.
