Have been playing mostly $2/4 at Party with a 300 BB bankroll. Have just tested the waters at Stars SnG's at the $10+1 level with some success (6 tourneys, 2 wins and a third). I also play live small tourneys weekly (8-20 players, $30-50).
What BR would folks recommend for playing SnG's?

I've always used 100 times the buyin, but in reading here and from my own experience with 400+ $11's, 1000+ $33's, and 400+ $55's I think 50x the buyin is safe, and have never run worse than about 25x, and that was a really bad run.

I think between 20 and 30 is what most people feel comfortable with.

My opinion is that a bankroll of a 2/4 player equates to the bankroll of a $20+2 sng player, so I guess its about 55 buy-ins. A 3/6 player would therefore have an $1800 bankroll and should be able to play the $30+3 sngs.

Since I have been getting in to the statistical thing lately, here are some figures.
I've played 80 Pokerstars two-table sit and gos this year, in the $11-$33 range.
My mean buy-in is $25;
my mean profit is $17;
my standard deviation is $68.
formula for bankroll with 5% risk of ruin (Sileo version, not Malmuth version) is 1.5 x SD^2 / mean profit, which in this case comes to $408, or about 16 times my mean buy-in.
So 20 buy-ins should cover it.
Guy.
