i could very easily picture an SC anchor saying "Gagne is the Nuts!!" or something to that effect.

obviously there are already references to 'bluffing' or 'calling someone's bluff' both in life and in sports.

That situation might come up. And it would be a good line.

But I think it would follow with "It's too bad the Giants have clinched the pennant already."

I heard this one on espn during a baseball game. Count was 3-2 and the announcer referred to it as a full house.

3-2 is a full count. Are you sure the announcer said, "full house"?
